The shared interests of two favorite causes blended together nicely for Ambassador Kathy Lindsey and 70 colleagues on Saturday morning, May 12, 2007. Kathy assembled a creative program which she hosted at the Kauffman Foundation and shared with her P.E.O. sisters. “There is so much synergy between P.E.O. goals and those of the Kauffman Center, I knew it was a perfect match.” P.E.O. (philanthropic education organization) is one of the pioneer societies for women, founded in 1869.

The summer began with a poolside cabaret hosted by donors Linda and Tom Beal on June 8, 2007. More than 70 current and future Kauffman Center supporters enjoyed cocktails and dinner interspersed with music by Frank Cherrito. He interrupted his string of Sinatra, Elvis and Dean Martin tunes to let Jane Chu tell everyone about the Kauffman Center. Finally the evening ended with everyone up on his or her feet, swaying to Neal Diamond’s “Sweet Caroline.”
